The Equalizer (2014) Review | FilmGamesEtc

As they get older, you’d think that the iconic male members of Hollywood’s elite actors would want to take more passive secondary roles that focus more on their acting talent than their physical prowess but, if anything, reality has proven the exact opposite to be true. Actors like Sylvester Stallone (The Expendables), Kevin Costner (3 Days to Kill), Pierce Brosnan (The November Man), and Liam Neeson (Taken) have proven they still don’t mind trading punches and bullets with their younger co-stars despite their ever-escalating ages. Actor Denzel Washington has followed a similar path, albeit with a bit more care than some of his peers. In The Equalizer, directed by Antoine Fuqua and based off the 1985 tv series of the same name, Washington aims to combine his subtle magnetism with no-nonsense fisticuffs and gunfights. But how well does he manage to pull it off?
