VRFocus - As excited as many are for virtual reality's (VR) future within the videogame industry, there's no doubt that the technology will also have a huge impact on film and TV. Today sees leading cinematic VR technology company Jaunt prove that fact, as it has announced a new round of funding totaling some $27.8 million USD to help increase the scale of its operations with its omnidirectional camera shooting 360-degree experiences for use with VR head-mounted displays (HMD) such as the Oculus Rift.
It's short but it isn't for the squeamish.
360-degree film Alien: Covenant In Utero will be released for Oculus Rift on 26th April.
Just don't expect the series to be the same as the original movie.
