The Expendables franchise started as an awesome in-your-face manly homage to the classic 80′s and 90′s action movies and their stars, but due to suspected studio greed, the latest installment is a hollow shell of the foul mouthed murderous affairs that fans have come to expect in The Expendables franchise. Simply put, The Expendables 3 is a neutered version of the formula that worked so well in the previous two entries, and it’s easily one of the biggest bore-fests of the 2014 summer blockbuster season. Its PG-13 rating crippled both the writers and actors from the get go, and the resulting action is nothing more than explosions set against green screens with old guys saying unfunny sanitized lines while looking overly decrepit. There is no blood, there are no head shots, and the language is no more harsh than what you may hear in Sunday school. The Expendables 3 formula is so far off from what made the franchise popular that it should be renamed The Not-Expendables 3: The Disney Edition. Yes, it’s that bad.
With the new The Crow remake coming soon, we take a look back at the 30-year-old cult classic original–and where the stars are now.
Kaam Chalu Hai Review: Based on true events, this movie is thought-provoking and inspiring
Rebel Moon Part 2 Review: This movie doesn't feel anything new or worth remembering, which is a shame.
Terribly disappointing and proof that not all film franchises can have PG-13 ratings to allow more viewership.
Well, I can't say I am surprised.
Yup, figures. Stallone and Arnold are better off doing comedy films by this point, because that's what The Expandables feels like by now.
Kind of glad to see it finally slipping. didn't even really care for the first one, and now it's like a poor attempt to put an "all-star" team together for no reason at all beyond nostalgia for an older crowd.
I say bring back The Losers, which actually has current action stars thanks to what they did after the movie :P
They are all of the same standard IMO. Worth a watch but that's about it.
