Hercules Review | Cinelinx

From Cinelinx:

Over the years, there have been many variations of the mythological hero, Hercules. There was 1969's Hercules in New York with Arnold Schwarzeneggar, Kevin Sorbo's Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, even Disney had it's own spin on Hercules. However, there was always something wrong with all of these different depictions. Kevin Sorbo's Hercules was way to hoaky to take seriously, Disney's Hercules had the mythology all wrong, and I don't think I need to go into everything wrong with Hercules in New York. Now, I could keep going and talk about everything wrong with each version of Hercules but then we'd never get to Dwayne Johnson as Hercules.

This blew Hercules 3D out of the water. The Rock rocks on.

Im not expecting much from this movie, I enjoy action and entertainment though, so is this movie really worth watching?

Mind you, I enjoy all the Transformers films.

If you enjoy all of the Transformers films, then you obviously have an envious amount of patience. I liked it a lot. The script drags somewhere in the middle, but Dwayne brings it as Herc. Spectacular action sequences, some surprising characterization with the mythological backstory too. Obvious sequel bait by the end, but I'd expect a solid sequel sometime soon.

I dont expect much from Bay's films. Im not stupid, I know whats going to be a fun action-fest, and which are going to be generally an interesting watch.

If you buy budget, dont complain its budget, imo.

But good to know Herc is watchable though.
