Disney Sets Pirates of the Caribbean 5 for a 2017 Release Date

From Cinelinx:

Disney has been having a rough time of getting the fifth movie in the successful Pirates of the Caribbean franchise up and running. It was initially set for a Summer 2015 release date, but then received an indefinite delay. Disney wasn't happy with the script at that point and wouldn't even give the film the greenlight. While there's been much discussion about it and thoughts from the franchise producer Jerry Bruckheimer, not much has been happening on Pirates 5...until now. Disney has set a brand new release date for the film, but we won't see it until 2017.

Hopefully they use this long delay to make a really good film. That's all I want.

Me too. I'd wait as long as it took. I just want a really good story because I know they won't make another one. I think it would be a good idea if they made it like ten years after the last one. that would make Will's son over 20 yrs old and he could be part of the story this time.

Yeah, they need to go out with a big solid bang. Especially for Johnny Depp as his career has been on a steady decline unfortunately.

Maybe even bring back Will and Elizabeth for the final farewell.

Also noticed the release date is 7/7/17
