Penny Dreadful has done a pretty good job with its focus on Vanessa in the last couple of episodes, but through showing her path down towards darkness we got to see a lot of the other characters as well. Malcolm is one that definitely had a lot more revealed about, but there was also some good stuff for Ethan when he talked with Vanessa and what was in her while also having some very good stuff with Victor as well. There’s a lot going on with what’s inside her and exploring that to some degree definitely proved fascinating, particularly since once again and unsurprisingly, Eva Green really just did some great scenery chewing to bring it to life in that kind of classic form. Thankfully, the end of the last episode started moving us past that and on to the kind of element we need to bring the season to a close by exploring where Mina actually is after all the teases.
