With 32 movies in only fourteen years, Marvel built an empire unlike anything previously seen in Hollywood. By taking things in-house, they set the bar higher than ever for superhero films and proved that the concept of a mega-franchise was not only viable, but extremely profitable. In 2009, they joined forces with Disney’s empire in order to grow their brand recognition even further and with their post-Avengers films, they’ve proven that things are only getting better. With all of this success, it would be impossible for other filmmakers and the owners of other franchises not to take notice. Today we’ll look at the ways in which Marvel is changing the way movies are made.
