He was a live-wire bundle of energy barely contained in human form. He created loud-mouthed, opinionated, often gross characters and caricatures possessed of a driving self-belief and still we loved him. From pratfalls to satire, from comedy to drama, it’s a truly tragic loss that Rik Mayall has died at the age of 56.
Craftmumthingz writes – So I have great news for all Rik Mayall fans who were furious that the movie Drop Dead Fred was to be remade. I was one of you furious fans who believed no one but the late Rik Mayall could or should play this part.
there is one person who i could see in a remake.
Ade Edmondson.
but i don't think he's really got the profile, and he's a bit old too.
i his younger days, he could have been a good, though somewhat different Fred.
as for russell brand.
hell no.
i don't hate brand like some people do, i think he can actually be funny, at times.
but he'd just be wrong for the role of Fred.
I noticed that Drop Dead Fred is to be remade in 2017. I don’t know what the movie industry is thinking with this one, but its safe to say there are going to be many unhappy fans of this movie classic. The late Rik Mayall was the star of the movie playing the awesome character …
I hope this isn't true, also how can you replace Rik Mayall with Russel Brand as Drop Dead Fred? Rik Mayall, a man that had more charisma in his discarded toenail clippings then Russel Brand has in his entire body, a 19th century mockney pirate is a poor substitute.
Mother f*****g bag of steaming c***s
The original has it's unconventional charms. I personally think that it is not remake friendly.
I've been thinking about this for such a long time, not if, it's when they would remake this. It's one of my favorite movies and can it be a sequel and not a reboot.
And this is yet another remake which is being made after one of the main characters has gone, this happens far too often.. and yes I'm saying it again.
I can't remember being so upset about a celebrity passing. This man was beyond words, no one has made me laugh as hard as Rik Mayall.
He was the legend of legends, R.I.P. you wonderful B'Stard.
