Would Marvel Really Cancel Fantastic Four To Snub Fox?

BC: Well this is an interesting one. Recently we ran a piece looking at the absence of comic book characters associated with Fox Studios on the Marvel 75th Anniversary Magazine cover, in favour of the likes of the Inhumans and Captain Marvel.

Well, now I’m being told from a Marvel source that Marvel are intending to put the Fantastic Four comic books on hold, both Marvel Universe and Ultimate. The characters will still appear, but in other folks’ books such as Inhuman and Avengers. And that artwork featuring the Fantastic Four is even being taken down in the company offices.

I wouldn't put it past Marvel to do something like that, they've already kicked the X-Men to the way side by letting Bendis run things amok.

I guess you can't blame them too much, but to just screw over long time fans of FF and X-Men because of the movie deals is pretty lame.

Porcelain_Chicken3609d ago (Edited 3609d ago )

Agreed. But those FF movies are soo0o0o00o cringe worthy! :(

I want to see a good one so badly. When i heard Fox say reboot i jumped with joy. I like the new director but the cast is very questionable and i feel we're not getting that great FF movie from Fox. Let's hope it's half decent.

marvel is just mad that the xmen movies are way better then avengers. Days of future past was awesome by the way.

Deadpoolio3609d ago

Wow you must be on some seriously strong drugs....All the X-men movies combined weren't as good as The Avengers....

cell9893609d ago

Tho Xmen is really good it won't touch Avengers 2 and avengers 1 is still slightly better than days of future past

JL3609d ago

I guess I'll join you in the minority. I really do think the Avengers movie is a bit overrated. Sure I liked it but it wasn't insanely awesome and the best ever like a lot of people make it out to be.

Now, I'm not going to say all the X-Men movies have been better (that would be a joke). But I'd definitely say First Class and Days of Future Past were better than Avengers.

Porcelain_Chicken3609d ago (Edited 3609d ago )

Eh... I wouldn't say all of the X-men movies were better because X3 and X:Origins were pretty terrible. First class, X2, and DOFP were great though and i can definitely agree there. I thought the Avengers while enjoyable was pretty overrated. Iron man and Cap 2 were awesome though!!!

Kurylo3d3609d ago

No doubt... every series will have its shit movies. Captain America was garbage. X3 and origins were garbage. Origins had an awesome intro though.. and perfect casting for sabretooth lol. But Avengers was a joke. It was a good movie, but its there for action.. and laughs... xmen is there for seriousness and thinking.

Before Bendis the Avengers , while it had it's fanbase , and ups and down before , was way less popular than the X-Men . His run and of course the first volumes of Ultimates is what led the charge in the 00s for the Avengers franchise .

How is giving the rein of part of the X-men to Bendis kicking them on the side ?

If anything he's been part , alongside a few others part of the rejuvenation of the X-men .

Finally , let's not forget that Avengers VS Xmen was Marvel's biggest selling event since Civil War

Secretcity3609d ago

Couldn't disagree more. X-Men is the best series at Marvel thanks to Bendis and Fantastic Four has never been interesting to read in a long time. It's all unrelated and if anything they coordinate story lines with the movies in hopes of more readers.

Baka-akaB3609d ago (Edited 3609d ago )

I wouldnt say the best , but it's pretty good for the most part . Anyway those rumors are to be taken with a grain of salt .

They were even claiming that as part of the effort to "ignore" the X-Men , Bendis was denied the creation of new characters , villains and mutants hero , for fear of giving free ammo and ads to fox movies .

Wich is odd , if you read both his X-Men book , he and current fellow x writers created plenty new mutants already . Those claims just got very little substance .
