Cannot argue with the brief description there. I wish they would focus on being a new league instead of apparently a rehash of WCW.
WCW focused heavily on Luchadores and AEW is focusing heavily on tag teams.
Doesn't help they brought in Eric Bischoff, even if his role was only what it was that night, it gives a bad vibe to long time wrestling fans - the ones that buy tons of merch, the ones that have been through thick and thin with guys like Jericho (who remembers his wild hair days with Ralphus in WCW?).
Dana Abercrombie from The Koalition says:
"Now all was not lost, aside from Edge giving a masterclass in promos, a drunk Steve Austin having fun with himself (why didn’t he give the stunner to Becky Lynch), the match between Rey Mysterio Jr. and Andrade was incredibly solid, showing us why these wrestlers deserve all the TV time. Asuka and Zelina only added to the match that featured Asuka yelling at everyone in Japanese, Andrade yelling at Rey in Spanish and Zelina the only person practicing social distancing."
Monday night raw was a complete disaster and it was a horrible decision to reair the royal rumble.
