When I first found out that a big budget “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” film was in the works, I instantly got excited, yet the smile quickly turned into a frown when I discovered that it would be a film produced by Michael Bay. Even though the man is not be directing, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” looks and feels much like a Michael Bay “Transformers” flick. While we all know that the “Transformers” trilogy was a succesful one, bringing in a huge amount of money, the films did not do justice to the franchise and were considered mediocre, with the first film being the only one to receive some praise. Now while Michael Bay has had his moments in film, he is looked upon as a person who can create excellent high-budget action flicks but with very little substance and a weak plot. Now while “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” film might turn out to be a phenomenal one, I’m afraid that after seeing the first two trailers there are the same amount of negatives as there are positives.
