Holy crap. Episodes 2 and 3 were only about $111 million.

coolbeans3648d ago

Accounting for inflation, the stars they seem to be bringing in, and the greater technological leaps (not sure if filming with 3D or whatnot), I'm not that surprised.

RetrospectRealm3648d ago (Edited 3648d ago )

They're shooting on 35mm film. Also, inflation hasn't gone up that much since Revenge Of The Sith.

"Also, inflation hasn't gone up that much since Revenge Of The Sith."

Which is why that's only one of the reasons I've listed.

RetrospectRealm3648d ago

I was under the impression you though inflation had gone up much.

coolbeans3647d ago (Edited 3647d ago )

I guess that would depend on what's considered much. If you chart 2005 to now on the inflation calculator you should get something like 21%.

Not some mind-blowing consideration compared to the *adjusted for inflation info you'd see for Episode IV's sales, but still considerable.

Yeah and it will probably make 2 billion just on cinema when you include 3D and all -.-

RetrospectRealm3648d ago

2 billion is a little much. I'd say maybe a little over a billion. Might not even beat the first Avengers film.

gunnerforlife3647d ago

tbh the way it has such a big following and with so much hype about it, i think it will beat it, and remember each 3D movie is more expensive then its counterpart so boy it is going to rake in the money!

ironfist923648d ago

they can spend this much on a single film, yet when it comes to Star Wars games, theyre cancelled without a second thought.
