Marvel Finally Explains Planet Hulk Movie Rumors

ScreenRant

The rumors of Marvel developing the PLANET HULK comic into a movie may finally come true with Thor: Ragnarok – but not in the way fans (or those who broke the rumors) likely expected. For those who may have forgotten, or had not yet been a committed MCU fan when rumors of a Planet Hulk movie first surfaced back in 2013, it would be easy to confuse the images of a ‘gladiator Hulk’ in Ragnarok as an adaptation, in one form or another, of the 2006 Greg Pak, Carlo Pagulayan, and Aaron Lopresti story.

EB: YouTuber anthony mcgrath first made waves on the Internet with his Iron Man Gamma Protocol short, which featured a great brawl between Hulk and Iron Man. Mark Ruffalo Interested in Doing Planet Hulk

IGN

Audiences will see Mark Ruffalo's return as Bruce Banner/The Hulk when Avengers: Age of Ultron opens in theaters in just a few weeks. To date, we've only seen Ruffalo's version of the character in the context of the Avengers films, which has us wondering when we may get to see The Hulk spread his massive wings in a solo film. Or as an additional player in another Marvel movie, a la Black Widow in Iron Man 2 and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

How would they do it that's the question

Would they make it so the Avengers send him away on purpose or change it it so the whole thing was an accident.

Might be good if Loki is involved and makes it look like the Avengers have betrayed him when really it's just one of his tricks so he comes back to attack them. He already manipulated the Hulk in the Avengers.

Loki will be long dead by then. He may be the villan we all love, but he isnt going to cause all this mischief, be responsible for Ragnorak, then come out the Infinity War all fine and dandy.

He will probably come to his senses during the Infinity War, then meet his maker before its too late to make a difference.

Given the fight between him and Hulkbuster in Avengers 2, maybe its possible?

Zefros3302d ago

They should make him kill red hulk first, then he snaps and fights the avengers. Would be awesome, and then the avengers sends him away from the planet andthats when planet hulk happens. Planet hulk is actuallly very complex to make as hulk in the comics is almost unstoppable. he destroyes everyone.

I dont care what the hulk movie would be about, Ruffalo is just awesome. And considering the last hulk movie is part of the MCU, he'll have The Leader to deal with 1st.

Cant wait until the Infinty War when he will charge at Thanos and hulk gets pimp slapped, left a bloody mess and flicked away like a used tampon.

Anyway, theres way too much to deal with on earth to even think about Planet Hulk. And if it does ever happen, it will be long long after the Infinity War has ended.

Porcelain_Chicken3301d ago

That all sounds amazing.. :O... I really wanted to see The Leader. I fear we never will. :/ Despite being the "strongest there is" there is something poor ol' Hulk can't carry, his own movie. You have to wonder, would the cast of the IH (2008) change along with Ruffalo or..?! We haven't seen a glimpse of any of them since which is frankly pretty weird.

Still I can't complain since we are getting friggin Black Panther and Ms.Marvel movies!!

Aldous_Snow3301d ago (Edited 3301d ago )

Yeah, well the guy who played the abomination signed up for 3 movies so theres a chance. But theres no guarantee they'll use him as I think I read that Marvel do that with most people "just in case" they need him/them

Its the same with the nerd who played Daniel Sterns, however, I think hes easily replaceable.

I didnt like Ed Norton, bit of an egomaniac. Instead of just getting on with the job he personally changed alot of the lines. Possible why the film wernt as good as it could have been. But we'll never know.

I do miss Betty (Liv Tyler) though.

Porcelain_Chicken3301d ago (Edited 3301d ago )

I like Ed Norton. I thought he was then best Bruce Banner to be honest. He brought charm and a sort of vulnerability to Banner that I feel Ruffalo hasn't. Although Ruffalo hasn't really been given the chance to be fair. Ed did add a lot of good things to IH (2008) there was a scene in particular where he talks to Betty's new boyfriend about the Hulk. It was a really cool conversation that Marvel ultimately cut. I realise that the guy should probably have just done what was asked of him. But if he was gonna add more layers to the character, make him deeper than just that smart angry guy then I would not mind if he meddled a bit. Hell if he was still on I'm sure he would have fought for a sequel or two by now. I feel like Banner has really taken the back seat in the MCU, he's only used when the plot demands Hulk and I think he deserves better.

Edit: Oh and yeah, more Liv Tyler can only make things better. One appearance from her would honestly make me feel a lot better about the Hulk side of things. Feels as if they are almost ashamed of him. :(

I miss Norton and his Hulk...
