TNT Cancels Frank Darabont's Mob City

TV Line:
TNT has whacked Mob City.

Frank Darabont’s follow-up to The Walking Dead launched in November to huge buzz but disappointing ratings; roughly 2 million viewers caught the two-hour opener.

“Mob City was created as a three-week television event and we are incredibly proud of the six hours we presented of this remarkable drama,” a Turner rep said in a statement. “Although the ratings of the limited series haven’t warranted more hours we are eager to work with Frank Darabont again and were delighted to bring the vibrant world of Mob City to life.”

I never saw this show but if anyone did, what are your thoughts on this?

Saw the Pilot, it was just 'okay'. Like a toned down version of Boardwalk Empire. It might be worth it if only to catch Simon Pegg's cameo in the first EP (he actually does decently in a dramatic role, with an American accent nonetheless). I couldn't muster up the interest to follow the show though which is a bad sign because I can usually make it through few episodes before coming to that conclusion. Your time would probably be better spent watching Boardwalk Empire. When you censor this type of a show for a basic cable audience it just doesn't have the same impact.

Too bad for Darabont though, first he gets booted off The Walking Dead and now his new show fails. Oh well, I'd rather see him go back to making films anyway.

That's what I was wondering, thanks. I watch so many show I really didn't have room for more and I really didn't find the clips that interesting so I guess I didn't really miss much.
