Ever since 2008 when the J.J. Abrams produced found footage monster movie Cloverfield hit theaters fans have desperately wanted a sequel. Abrams himself as well as writer Drew Goddard have openly discussed the possibility of a sequel, but will we ever actually see Cloverfield 2?

I doubt it. I mean, they all say they'd like to, but the truth is all of the key players are so damn busy. Matt Reeves is locked into Fox for Planet of the Apes until 2016, and Abrams is on Star Wars.
While I'd love to see a sequel, I'd be fine in letting the story stand as it is.
You summed it up well. I would love one but they are all so busy. I am just glad this did not end up in the hands of some unproven people just so the studio could keep making money. Now if the new Godzilla hits big you may see a run for this type of film and the pressure would be on to make it.
