The Trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is Here

CS

We've always known that Spider-Man's most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.

Well....there we have it folks...Thoughts?

TheHergulaX3788d ago

Looks friggin brilliant.

Considering that my favorite superhero is Spidey, I might be a bit biased.

-Superman-3788d ago

STOP TROLLING. YOU GAVE MOS 10 OUT OF 10 BY CALLING GOOD CGI AND NOW YOU CALL BAD CGI? WTF
ALSO, MOVIE COMES OUT IN 6 MONTH, OF CUASE THEY MAKE CGI BETTER.

Wintersun6163787d ago

Superman's just being jelly because he's not Hergula's fav supahero.

TheHergulaX3787d ago

@Wintersun616 - Haha, I was surprised by -Superman- response as well, I have no clue what he is talking about, literally. Maybe u are right, he pissed I like Spidey more than Superman. haha, who knows.

Looks pretty bad to be honest....average at best

Hollywood strikes again

Way too many villains shoe horned in there, it works in comics but not in films. Spiderman 3 anyone (Venom, Green Goblin, Sandman etc) ?

-Superman-3788d ago

Too many villains??? Spider-Man 3 had 3 MAIN VILLAIN, but TASM 2 has only 1 main villain. Electro is main villain, Rhino and Goblin has very small rolls. Also, Batman Begins, Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises had also 3 villains but you said it was brilliant movie.

Baka-akaB3788d ago

seriously i wish people would stop picking ultimately back movies in all aspects as an excuse to not feature more than two villain ..

whybag3788d ago

Spiderman 3 wasted way too much time with Emo Parker and the MJ love triangle, and Venom's only motivation was he lost his job and was defeated by some ringing pipes?

SilentNegotiator3788d ago (Edited 3788d ago )

"Too many villains??? Spider-Man 3 had 3 MAIN VILLAIN, but TASM 2 has only 1 main villain. Electro is main villain, Rhino and Goblin has very small rolls. Also, Batman Begins, Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises had also 3 villains but you said it was brilliant movie"

The Dark Knight series didn't have 3 villains at once. The first movie was Raz and his underling, Scarecrow. The second was Joker and his creation, Two face. The third was Bane.

And spiderman 3? So what? People hated Spiderman 3!

abc12333787d ago

Avengers had to juggle many more heroes yet it was still pretty awesome. Spiderman 3 having multiple villains isn't why it sucked.

mahmoods263788d ago

Just meh really. Looks like a sub par story with no character development and too many cheap CGI effects. Weird how the CGI in the Raimi version looked better even though its at least 5 years old.

Sevir3788d ago

And you gather that from a 2 minute trailer? Lol OK.

mahmoods263787d ago (Edited 3787d ago )

So you've got Rhino, Green Goblin and Electro. Plus the introduction of Norman Osborn, Harry Osborn, Max Dillon, Aleksei and whatever secret his dad had (which in ultimate spiderman was the symbiote btw). Yeah I can definitely see awesome character development in this 2 - 2 and half hour film. Not to mention the whole Gwen Stacy relationship which needs to develop, his job at the bugle if he gets it, maybe even showing him going to high school? Yeah loads of character development possible in that small space of time. At least there's hope his mask will stay on in this film.

Blacktric3788d ago

"Way too many villains shoe horned in there"

This. They're just trying to create hype and don't give a damn about making an actually good movie. But it won't matter to the mouthbreathing general audiences as always. They loved the first one, for some reason, and they'll pay to go see this one, opening way for more soulless sequels.

TheRealHeisenberg3788d ago

Heaven forbid people like a movie that you don't like.

darklordzor3788d ago

I thought it was amazing looking. Seriously. It has a great tone, the action looks incredible and captures the way that Spider-Man fights in the comics. I can't freaking wait.

Still no real explanation in here about the Goblin, but that's okay.

Crazay3788d ago

I was more than a little impressed myself. It does look pretty tight so far.

Garethvk3788d ago

I just do not like Foxx as Electro and Paul G as the Rhino especially the mechanical suit. That being said, it looks good.

Crazay3788d ago

I have little issue with GIamatti...Granted he's not how I picture Rhino but I'm fully on board with you regarding Foxx.

Garethvk3788d ago

Exactly, Electro is supposed to come across as this NY Heavy type not LLwanda or Ray Charles.

DJrantz3788d ago

I agree, Jamie Foxx is doing some kind of soft batman voice and the mechanical rhino is tacky. But the effects and action look good.

Sevir3788d ago

Foxx is a great actor and if he can play this role the way we want him it may very well be a great villain.

Before we complain about it, letsbsee how well he plays the part, all we've seen is 2 mins of the movie in several scene switches.

TheHergulaX3788d ago

The trailer looks exactly how I expected, and as a huge supporter of Andrew Garfield's Spider-man, I have had high expectations of the second movie. Now it looks quite spectacular to be honest, as it shows off enough to get you excited, but not more than one can take in, in 3 mins.

And I have to say that I was happily surprised about Green Goblin, as in the poster he looks very odd, yet in the trailer they give a good peek on what to expect.

All in all, I am very excited.

frelyler3788d ago

How come no one is considering maybe he's the Hob Goblin? Then his father could be the Green Goblin. In this trailer he looks really ghoulish, which is perfect for Hob Goblin. Has he already been confirmed as Green Goblin or are people ignoring the fact he may not be?

Crazay3788d ago

That idea has crossed my mind. I think he just might be Hobgoblin.

mahmoods263788d ago

He's not the hobgoblin. People aren't ignoring it, its just one of those things that is given.

There's no reason for him to be the hobgoblin. Especially when the Green Goblin has already been established in the Spiderman movieverse.

frelyler3788d ago (Edited 3788d ago )

@mahmoods26

That's exactly why he would be something other than Green Goblin, it would be too close to the originals and it would be something different. They haven't rehashed villains yet and I don't think they will except for Venom who was never serviced correctly on film.

TheHergulaX3788d ago

I am simply calling him by the name rumored for him to have, which is Green Goblin, although there is a possibility he might be Hob Goblin. I mean who knows at this point without actual facts.

WitWolfy3788d ago (Edited 3788d ago )

Harry = Green Goblin?? Someone fudged up the lore again in the writing room AGAIN!!!

xXBlondieVanHarlowXx3787d ago

The Hobgoblin?? o_- Why in the world would Roderick Kingsley be in the movie. Would feel odd without GG appearing first, as that is where Roderick gets the Goblin gear to begin with. That Goblin in the trailer is clearly being played Dane DeHann (Harry), therefore he's Green Goblin. Not New, not Hob. Green.

frelyler3787d ago

@XBlondie

Clearly you don't know your lore as well as you think. In the Ultimate universe Harry takes the serum and becomes the Hobgolin. In this universe Harry also meets Parker in High school and becomes friends with him. I think this is where the movie is going, which I think is a good idea. This sets up a scenario like in the comics where Hobgoblin will face off against the Greengoblin, minus SHIELD killing Norman of course.

-Foxtrot3788d ago (Edited 3788d ago )

Sorry but Andrew is a horrible version of Spiderman and Toby was aswell. I don't think anyone has played he good yet, if I had to pick I would pick Toby's minus Spidermans 3 performance.

Andrew trying to deliver sarcastic lines and one liners comes off really bad. Not too mention, and I'm an old school Spiderman comic guy from the early days, he dosen't look like Peter Parker at all. He never looked nerdy at all at the start of the first film it's like someone just slapped thick black glasses on him and thats it.

As I've said before I hope they stop after the third one after having a change of heart and put the franchise to rest for a while....then come back with an older Peter Parker who has been Spiderman for years, sick of being Spiderman until a new threat makes he believe in himself again...blah blah blah you get the idea

cell9893788d ago

they probably will take a break after part 3, and although Garfield is not the best Peter Parker, at least Mark Webb is at the helm and not Raimi. Can you imagine what he would have done to the villain The Lizard or The Rhino? I get chills just thinking about it.

Webb atleast is sticking more to the comics than Raimi did, introducing Gwen rightfully so, and not Mary Jane, The Lizard being the first super Villain that Spidey faced, proper mechanical web shooters.

I can bet that if Webb had the opportunity to do the very fist Spiderman movie, he would have done a better job than Raimi. He was constrained on the 1st Amaizing Spiderman movie because a lot of the story arcs had already been used by Raimi, so he was forced to come up with a new origin story that made sense without killing the Spiderman lore, I think he did a good job with what he had.

I trust Webb will give us a better Spiderman than Raimi ever did, fact.

-Foxtrot3788d ago

Hopefully

I just don't get how people love him, I feel like it's because Toby wasn't that good either and people want to make him look better after the horrible third Spiderman film to rub it in Toby's face or something.

I know we don't see an older Peter Parker in the comics much but it's a great way to have this darker tone while also setting up most of the characters without introducing them.

Think about it this way, if you have an older Peter Parker you have...

Mary Jane and Peter already married

Aunt May and Jonah Jameson, Sr. are married

Mary Jane could have a kid on the way which at the end of the first film after Peter becomes victorious over whatever villain could loose it thanks to a return of the Green Goblin to set up the second film...you know how he gets someone to poison her

Most villains have already been vote so you can reference them

Black Cat would be bumbing into Peter alot while as Spiderman and they've known each other for years.

You get the point

If I was doing a trilogy I would have Venom as the first villain, then a return of the Green Goblin - a classic villain with a subplot in the background of the symbiote off spring of Venom making it's way to the Prison, then the third film being Carnage.

TheHergulaX3788d ago

But yet again I get a responce that makes no sense. I never said I thought he was great as Spider-Man, I simply support him AS the character. Don't reply to something I have not said, it makes no sense.

Torkith3788d ago

Just in case anyone isn't aware. This series is not a trilogy, ASM3/4 are already announced and dated for 2016/18.

I'd assume we're getting the full Sinister 6 in 3 and maybe Venom/Carnage in 4?

Anyways, thought the trailer looked pretty great.

-Superman-3788d ago

HE IS NOT GREEN GOBLIN!!! HE IS PROTO-GOBLIN.
They wanted to make Proto-Goblin in first movie but they cut it and now they making Proto-Goblin in TASM2.

xXBlondieVanHarlowXx3787d ago (Edited 3787d ago )

But that is clearly Dane DeHann. Who is playing Harry. Look people...

Norman & Harry Osborn = Green Goblin
HobGoblin = Roderick Kingsley
Protogoblin = Nels Van Adder
Demogoblin = Jason Philip Macendale Jr
Grey goblin = Gabriel Stacy

GAAAAAAAWD!!!

Smokeeye1233788d ago

Jesus andrew garfield, shave your head or cut it short. Maybe then I could take you seriously. Looks ridiculous with his hair like that. Does Spidey hide gel in his jockstrap to keep it so perfect 100% of the time?

Also the green goblin is an emo kid for some reason and the Rhino is...a mech?....WTF?

Jamie Foxx as electro is the only character casting that I really don't have much of a problem with. Obviously theyd have to change the look of his outfit/appearance drastically from the comics. And his new blue-man-group getup looks pretty cool.

cell9893788d ago

I can see why they went Mech Rhino, same reason the Goblin has an armored suit and Doc Oc uses powered tentacles. Also The Rhino's origin story would mean sacrificing screen time to explain how he got his powers, which imo is not worth it, considering he is a brute for hire. Harry might end up been the Hob Goblin rather than the Green Goblin (big difference)

Still looks to be a better movie than any previews Spiderman films, in Webb I trust

LoneWolf0193788d ago

Or more like his Ultimate version (Shocker) same with Rhino. People need to do their research before bashing on how characters look.
