With Django Unchained having earned over $425 million at the worldwide box office, Quentin Tarantino is sticking with the Western genre for his next film. Appearing on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," Tarantino talked about the project.
Love Quentin. Can't wait to see what he has in store next.
He's one of the few directors that will release films and i will like all of them.
Good; we'll get a western that doesn't think that the important part is the explosions and action bits. *AHem* The Lone Ranger *cough* Now let's see some sci-fi writers/directors that understand that.
I can't wait for his next film but another western....thought he would do a genre/setting he hasn't tackled yet. Sci-Fi..maybe
Yeah, but I'm not sure he's so into sci-fi? Can't remember him talking about anyone sci-fi movies in particular anyway. Personally I can't wait for more Quentin western though. It will probably be very different from Django...
Whatever he will create, I will watch.
I have little faith in Tarrantino. I'll check it out with hopes that it's good but he's very hot and cold with me.
Keep it up Quentin ;)
Another western? Sheesh. django was okay but not one of his best. It has a slow pace and the only good scenes and climax is near the end. Id rather him have another kill bill or japanese or kung fu movie which is more interesting than western. who doesn't want kung fu right??
It wasn't a western, it was set in the south based on black slavery with a lot of similarities of a western (such as towns and technology). Westerns normally involve duels, law and order, conflicts with native indians, gunfights out in the vast open plains and is set in the old west. Django had none of these things, except maybe a couple of open plain scenes, but those were assassinations, not western style gun fights.
so a movie set in a future universe, but without laser-gun-fights is not a sci-fi movie then?
The disagrees and this comment don't make any sense. Why would you call it a western if it's not set in the west? Have you guys seen any westerns at all? Are you saying that all a movie needs is a revolver and set in the same time as a western and it = a western? Please feel free to tell me why Django Unchained is a Western Movie then.
I didnt know Westerns required all of those essential ingredients.
It is a matter of taste, just because you dislike Westerns, that does not mean that they are bad.
Write an awesome part for Clint Eastwood, Kurt Russell and Kevin Kosner Quentin. If anyone can pull it off you can. Throw Timothy Olyphant in there too if you can.
Damn, I'm already too late for the media blackout.
lol I thought the guy said he was going to retire last year.
as is my all time favorite too and he said himself that he would like to make a movie as renown and admired as one of the greatest westerns ever made!
I´d love to see him do a gangster movie again
