I rate this a perfect 10.

Simply great cinema. The film makers maximized and effectively used 3D-tech. Will be relevant for a long, long number of years.

Ending is simple and righteously how it should be.

I really enjoyed the movie, but I cannot bring myself to give it a 10 due to a couple of really silly scenes, and how some things just completely defy physics, when they could've solved them easily.

After much thought, this is a very good hollywood movie, but I am unsure if it really deserves the ratings it has been getting. I think in 10 or 15 years, when we have possibly seen even greater accomplishments, popular opinion will be revised down somewhat.

Indeed much of the praise is for the technical feats of the movie, stupendous as they are, always have the potential to be far surpassed in the future. We tend to overrate (most) films that herald an impressive technical moviemaking advance, then revise them down later.

In terms of the script, or the story it tells, I found it to be a little bit on the weak side to be hailed as a truly 'classic' movie. A little bit predictable, themes a bit too obvious and shallow. Are the nods to 2001: A Space Odyssey for example particularly original or praiseworthy? Or merely piggybacking onto that immense masterpieces own high regard?

I'll happily give it a 7 or 8 much as the review here. But it'll be at least 10 years before anyone should dare deem it an all time great.

I am looking forward to watching this movie, seems solid, well produced, and quite intriguing as well.
