From Badass Digest:
The screenwriter of the Oldboy remake explains his attempt at writing a Mass Effect movie, and what went wrong.
Why Mass Effect Will Be The Only Video Game Movie Mark Protosevitch Writes
There has been a Mass Effect movie slowly wending its way through the Hollywood system for a number of years, and at one point Mark Protosevitch was brought on to write it. Protosevitch is the writer of the upcoming Oldboy remake, but you have also seen his credit on films like I Am Legend and The Cell. Whenever Mass Effect does arrive as a movie you probably won't be seeing his credit on it.
With the new The Crow remake coming soon, we take a look back at the 30-year-old cult classic original–and where the stars are now.
Kaam Chalu Hai Review: Based on true events, this movie is thought-provoking and inspiring
Rebel Moon Part 2 Review: This movie doesn't feel anything new or worth remembering, which is a shame.
"They're hard"
No...they really aren't
All you have to do is follow the plot of the game, shorten it by taking on the unnecessary parts that don't fit the plot and then try to bridge the film together by working on the gameplay bits.
Despite being so easy though they make it hard on themselves thinking they have to change the entire game for the film.
I'd rather take a game film which closely follows the games plot even though I know whats going to happen screen by scene over a crappy adaptation where it will suck
