Buddy cop films have somewhat fallen out of favor with the general viewing public in recent years. What was once a thriving film sub-genre has been reduced to an occasional ‘blip’ on the movie radar as audiences have moved on to other (and in some cases worse) categories of film. Like many other vintage items however there’s sometimes an unexpected resurgence in popularity which can make what was old seem new again- 2 Guns may do just that for buddy cop films.
