B-roll footage is the best way to see how movies like this get made, because they expose just how much magic goes into making a science fiction film not rooted in our known reality. Based on the Elysium B-roll clips below though, it seems that Neil is going for as many practical effects and sets as possible, which is a great move considering that most films of this nature require heavy amounts of CGI work to bring them to life.

This is the aim I loved seeing in these films. It's so interesting to see what kind of work goes on behind these films.
