Monsters University Review | High Score Reviews

Much as they set out to do with Toy Story 3, Disney and Pixar have returned to one of their most well loved properties in an attempt to rekindle a sense of fun and fancy within the generation that enjoyed Monsters Inc 12 years ago, whilst also providing a colourful and entertaining spectacle for modern day children and the parents accompanying them to the cinema. Unlike the return to the world of Buzz and Woody, though, Monsters University acts as a prequel to the events of the original film, following the exploits of Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal) and James Sullivan (John Goodman) as they aim to enter the scaring business via the art of attaining a university degree. In this sense, just like Toy Story 3, the filmmakers are well aware that the kids who experienced Monsters Inc back in 2001 are themselves preparing for university life too, and also just like Toy Story 3, coming back to a world you grew up loving proves to be just as charming and delightful in Monsters University.
