Thursday, July 18 was the 95th birthday of the former president of South Africa, who recently had a serious health scare, Nelson Mandela. The debut trailer has now been released for “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom”, directed by Justin Chadwick and written by William Nicholson. Nelson Mandela is played by non other than Idris Elba, with Winnie Mandela being played by Naomie Harris. The film is a chronicle of Nelson Mandela’s life journey from his childhood in a rural village through to his inauguration as the first democratically elected president of South Africa.
