What do you get when you take a kickass movie like Army of Darkness, subtract chainsaws, deadites and cocky bravado, then add magic, witches and bullshit? You get Oz the Great and Powerful, a huge recycled piece of shit that will make you angry, bored then angry because you're bored. While watching Oz in a theater, I noticed so many similarities to Army of Darkness that I looked around to see if anyone else was as outraged as I was. Nope. Turns out I was the only person in the theater who wasn't an idiot. It's practically a shot-for-shot remake of AoD. Don't believe me?
Fight For Paradise Review: This reality show is nothing new but there are so many uncomfortable moments that will definitely give you the ick.
Bros Review: The series, as the title suggests, is about two adult men who want to behave like children and we are not here for that.
Going Home With Tyler Cameron Review: This is a simple, no-nonsense but cliched watch, with Cameron's boyish charms taking centre stage.
I haven't seen the new film but those comparisons put a damper on any sort of excitement I had in revisiting that land of Oz.
Did the movie's story come off as lazy to anyone else?
Yeah, Sam Raimi has really been disappointing me for the last decade. Not a huge fan of Spiderman, Drag Me To Hell was just so-so, and then you have Oz. Not to mention all the terrible horror films his production company is responsible for.
Also: I liked it better when it was called Hellboy 2
Blade 2 also features a Prince/Princess due with the Prince serving as the villian and the princess as love interest. She dies in his arms.
Main bad guy kills father to start war with humans.
Protaganist's hideout is infiltrated, a fight ensues
