"Kaiju, when translated directly to English from Japanese, literary means ‘strange beast’ however it has been defined to mean ‘monster’ or ‘giant monster’. Kaiju movies refer to movies where a Kaiju attacks a major Japanese City or engages other (or even multiple) Kaiju in battle. The most famous Kaijus include Godzilla, Mothra, Gamera and even King Kong. When I heard that a new Kaiju movie was coming out that had humans in giant mechs fighting Kaiju, I instantly put Pacific Rim on my list of movies to watch on the day of release."
