Indeed. It's surprising to see just how far they were willing to take the action + dark side themes in later seasons.

I didn't say it had to be an anime, just of a different flavor like the vid in my first comment.

The "on television" bit is far from true (especially when considering animes). In fact, I'd slam first season's animations as being mechanical like the heavily-criticized movie was. By better, I mean no hints of that early on.

We watched the same series, I can assure you. Just that I don't regard the later seasons as having phenomenal animation. They got much better, but I don't want to see the next series undergo such a learning curve: bad in movie's inception to solid towards the end.
