Hollywood could learn some lessons from Danish filmmaker Tobias Lindholm, co-writer of recent award-winning drama The Hunt.
This story of a Scandinavian cargo ship taken over by Somali pirates may sound a bit like Under Siege without the action, but it’s actually a ruthlessly plausible thriller, stripped clean of music and melodrama, and all the more engrossing for it.
DL: Magnolia has acquired North American rights from TrustNordisk on the Tobias Lindholm-directed A Hijacking. The film premiered at Venice and Toronto. The deal was negotiated between Susan Wendt, Head of Sales at TrustNordisk and Magnolia’s SVP of Acquisitions, Dori Begley.
