The American film “Django Unchained” was abruptly pulled from theaters in China on Thursday, its opening day, a surprising move that underscored the fragility of Hollywood’s evolving relationship with the Chinese movie industry.
it really makes no sense removing a very well executed movie which also happens to be a blockbuster which garnered prestigious technical awards. based on what i have read, censorship is the biggest issue in the said movie, but being removed is harshly too much on my point of view and i have watched several asian films more bloodier and more matured oriented than django, i hope they make at least a limited release in china rather than a total withdrawal.
