What a predictable and unfounded list..

RetrospectRealm4019d ago

Predictable because it's completely true.

He is the only actor to win the Academy Award for Best Actor in a lead role 3 times. That's something.

aDDicteD4019d ago

he is the only actor as of now to win 3 best actor awards in the oscars. that is a valid argument of considering him the best actor of all time.

SouthClaw4019d ago

While I agree he is a great actor but the difference between him and other big actors is he is very careful in the roles he picks. He doesn't do a lot of films he does a small amount of films in which he knows he can do a fantastic job in. I'm not disagreeing with you but I would say that is why he is thought to be such a great actor. He can really take a character and become it.

yeah i agree that Daniel day lewis chooses the films he gets involved in and he is always in his comfort zone. while he might be arguably be the best actor in critically acclaimed films, it could be pointed out that other prominent actors like robert de niro are more versatile because he can carry his presence in drama, action, comedy and thriller equally well.

One of the best actors I've ever seen. Brilliance.

At that time, Day-Lewis could not have predicted that Woodcock would be the last character he would play. He had no sense that this film would engulf him in such a depression that he would be prompted to publicly announce his retirement from acting. On the contrary, he was, as he has always been when he takes on a new part, eager to immerse himself in yet another cinematic identity.

It may just be the teaser, but the movie doesn't seem very interesting.
