'Man of Steel' Will Open Door for More DC Comics Superhero Movies

When Man of Steel hits theaters on June 14, it won’t just mark the arrival of a new Superman — it will also lay the groundwork for the future slate of films based on DC Comics.

Jeff Robinov, president of Warner Bros. Pictures Group, spoke to EW for this week’s cover story on the Zack Snyder-directed, Christopher Nolan-produced movie, and allowed a peek over the wall of secrecy surrounding their DC Comics plans: “It’s setting the tone for what the movies are going to be like going forward. In that, it’s definitely a first step.”

Strange as it may seem to some, I'm pulling for a Green Lantern cameo rather than a Batman one. I still feel like it's too soon to see a different Batman up on the screen, unless it is tied to the previous films.

I mean the Green Lantern cameo would be great, yet due to the poor reception the film got, I highly doubt that.

I believe that they might actually create a cameo for a completely new character that has yet not been on the big screen... Possibly The Flash? OR Aquaman, which would open up a film-opening for the hero, much like the way Hawkeye was introduced with a sneak cameo in Thor.

Altough I wouldnt be surprised if Bruce Wayne would make a cameo, Christian Bale playing him as well, Even if he will give up the character, I doubt that means he couldnt be a cameo.

I hope the Arrow TV series gets a Movie version to coinicide with the DC Nolanverse.

Would love to see Stephen Amell's Green Arrow make it to the big screen

That'd actually be a neat and unexpected cameo.

That would throw everyone off, and then ties the movies to the TV show.

Plus, Green Arrow is a bit young, so he might be a fresh face of the Justice League, instead of the old experienced one we're used to.

i'd love to see Wonder Woman finally make her big screen debut, look how often the other two of the DC trinity, Batman and Superman, have gotten movies, but not once Wonder Woman.

i can't help but think it's the fact that she's Wonder WOMAN, that's held back any attempts at giving her a movie.

how often do we see female superheroes anyway?

the last DC one i can remember was Supergirl, nearly 30 years ago.

anyway, i can't wait to see this movie, hopefully it will be phenomenally successful and we'll get more DC movies, leading up to a Justice League movie.

yes it would definitely open doors for DC superheroes but the question is if the other superhero movies can stand with the man of steel, because by the looks of it, man of steel is spectacular and if there is a justice league movie, every film should be tied up. marvel did a good job in avengers arc making 4 out 5 good movies before avengers. i hope dc can make flash, wonderwoman and green lantern(reboot) a good movie
