Star Wars Darth Maul Spin-Off Movie Being Considered

From Cosmic Book News:

Our DC Entertainment source has just given us a few tidbits on a possible new Star Wars spin-off movie.

I'm really not sure I believe it, but I think this would be a great idea. For one, I thought the Obi-Wan Kenobi spin-off movie McGregor said he'd be willing to come back for sounded incredibly great. Secondly, it'd wrap up any loose ends left with Darth Maul. His character was left hanging in the last season of Clone Wars, and since that show is cancelled, we won't likely see it resolved. This movie could take care of that problem and give fans something they want to see.

so a sort of prequal ish side movie to the 4th one?

i remeber seeing some fan video of maul on robotic legs chasing after luke while hes still an infant and obi wan happens to be there waiting and well you get the rest lol

That was actually from a one-shot comic book they did a long time ago. It's actually where they got the idea/look for his legs in the Clone Wars cartoon.

It was really disappointing that they cancelled the clone wars and leaving Darth Maul's story hanging without us knowing what happens next to him. last scene he had was a cliffhanger on what Darth Sidious will do to him and why he kept him alive.

I still think he was killed off too soon Lucas could've drag his story a little longer into the 3rd film IMO

Darth Maul was the highlight of Phantom Menace for me. I mean that double sided lightsaber is just so sick!

I really think he's been an undervalued character in the Star Wars franchise. He's pretty cool.

i think this is all speculation because of the fact that disney bought the right to star wars that is why star wars again becomes hot property to the point that people anticipates that disney will make numerous spin offs for potential money but i think only few key characters can really be a potential to make a solo movie possible and darth maul as cool as he can be cannot manage a movie solely for his story unless it will flop hard or be financially ok but will be gunned down by critics. it will be better to see his origins as a sideline story in an actual movie like for example is how they did with magneto in x men first class it worked even if they did not create a risky move by making a movie solely for his origins.

The SITH deserve their own movie.
