Spring Breakers will long be remembered by most for its scattered performances and constant use of nudity and profanity to represent a particular age group, but it’s the film’s slow-burn descent into a dream-like hell that will make it stick out as one of 2013′s most distinct films."
Last year director Harmony Korine’s indie film Spring Breakers made its way to theaters and now it appears that the film made enough money to warrant a sequel. Wild Bunch has announced that Spring Breakers: The Second Coming is set to hit theaters sometime in the near future.
I doubt the "stars" in it stay, and I doubt it stays as a theater release. If it does, it will be limited. This will most likely become a direct to DVD film.
"Just from the opening scene of Spring Breakers, I had this feeling that I would be watching a over sexualized teen-college film. I wasn't entirely wrong. While the movie had some redeeming quality and acting moments, the story wasn't substantial enough for me to take seriously. If I have to give this movie anything, it had some really visually stunning colors and of course plenty of eye candy to go around."-Matvb
A little late but here we are: my favorite films so far this year. Let me note these are not the best films of the year so far, but my favorite, films I personally enjoyed the most.
