"For a screenplay this obvious and by the numbers, it’s strange to have such an ending applied to the piece. All I know is that I hated it. The movie is cheesy, poorly written, and just smacks of obviousness in all areas. Characters were not fully developed, they only served the plot’s purposes as functional archetypes. The only truly impressive thing about this film are Breslin’s and Berry’s performances. They’re strong in all areas, even when their characters suddenly take a turn for the weird."

just saw this movie, only as good as a rental. i thought it would be mediocre at best because of halle berry and abigail breslin but the second half of the movie was forgettable.
