Jeremy of The Daily Rotation wrote, "“Do you think we’ll be redeemed for the things we’ve done? I don’t know, maybe in our dreams.”
That line or at least a slight variation of it is what steers Todd Robinson‘s deep sea drama into the depths of something much bigger than World War III. One may ask themselves how anything can possibly be bigger than the ending of the world or at least the way we lived it at the time in which this movie takes place, which is back in the Cold War era, where a Soviet captain (Ed Harris) and his crew are sent on a classified mission with a KGB group (led by David Duchovny)."
EB: Two of the new Funko Pops come from the Marvel universe–one from the TV side, one from the movies side–that both kick ass, although one is becoming a bit overplayed at this point. The figures are a Holiday Dancing Baby Groot, and a Phil Coulson with Lola vehicle combo from the Agents of SHIELD TV show. How can you not instantly fall in love with the Coulson/Lola bundle? It’s amazing, and will surely grace my collection this October.
Directed by Todd Robinson, Phantom is another addition to the world of underwater warfare and suspense movie library.
Collider:
The first trailer and poster for the period submarine thriller Phantom have been released online. The film stars Ed Harris as the captain of a Cold War Soviet submarine who, after being rushed into a classified mission, discovers that his submarine is being taken over by a rogue KGB group. David Duchovny plays the leader of the KGB group, and this trailer looks like it may just give away the entire plot of the film. We haven’t seen a good submarine thriller in quite a long time, so here’s hoping Phantom delivers.
