Can't say I agree with much of his take on the film. As someone who generally dislikes found footage films, I found the film to be fun and inventive, a breath of fresh air for the horror sub-genre.

My two favorite shorts in the anthology were the two I thought were the best of the bunch so I guess that just proves different strokes for different folks.

This movie was awful. The recurring theme in each of these found footage stories was how annoying and awful each character could be. It's the only reason the directors could find for their characters to keep the cameras rolling.

Each story was terrible, hardly any of them made sense and the actors tried their hardest to not act at all.

One of the best scenes is the first story when the three d-bag guys are getting ripped apart in the motel room by the whatever the hell she was and the nerdy guy hides behind a bed RIGHT NEXT TO THE WAY OUT. He could've just left the hotel room, but instead he hides behind a bed. When I saw this I knew the movie would be crap.

*** SPOILER*****

I found this to be preety scary sometimes like the the part where he's video chatting and sees the kid and then the twist on that was nice

V/H/S2 Review

Gamevolution writes that V/H/S2 is a mixed bag. The direction is, generally, inventive and clever, the acting is mostly embarrassing and the stories it aspires to tell are hit and miss. One might argue that an anthology film made of four found footage flicks, all by different directors, is bound to be to be disjointed. But in the right hands, V/H/S2 could have been an immersive masterpiece. As it stands it’s a mess, made all the more tragic by the pockets of brilliance it smothers.

Entering the Netflix Stream: January 2013

Nicholas of Movies Hate You Too writes:

This January Netflix Streaming brings a lot of new films including one of the top grossing films of 2011, several new found footage horror films, Danny DeVito protects the environment, some independent releases, and a straight-to-DVD sequel of a Jason Statham ‘classic’. As usual Netflix has added plenty of catalog films to their lineup as well as including one of Schwarzenegger’s best action films, a gang cult classic, Ferris Bueller takes on Burger King’s most famous sandwich, Keyser Söze brings together the usual suspects, Sean Connery defects, and fish people leave the sea to meet the available women of the Northwest.

V/H/S Review | Clickonline

Clickonline writes: "The second half of V/H/S is more consistently enjoyable – effective apartment based creeps lead to full blown haunted house horror in the final piece, 10/31/98. Genuinely inventive, this finale ups the special effects quotient and scale, while also cleverly working a found footage conceit into the analogue days of the 90s. It’s my personal favourite and a great way to end the film."

VHS is a very good compilation of horror stories. 5 out of 6 were very interesting. the first episode was a great way to start and the final episode which was the exorcism/haunted house story was a very well executed finale. i am very excited about vhs 2 but i hope it wont be the next saw franchise who also started out very strong but sequels were lackluster to trash.
