I kind of like the idea (though I'd love to see other characters or even all new characters, get a standalone film first), but Knowles doesn't site any sources or anything...Sounds incredibly fishy.

A Yoda story would be nice. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot known about him.

darklordzor4094d ago

Yeah, but that's one of the great things about Yoda as a character. He's got the air of mystery about him. You know he's strong and powerful, but have no idea how he got to be that way and so wise. It makes him a more of a legend. Going into his backstory would be showing things that don't have to be shown.

Mysteriousness is overrated if it's just there for convenience.

I'll have to wait and see what they do with it. I never really was that much into Star Wars to begin with but with all the new technology and the new writers and directors and seem to think more outside the box these days I will pay more attention to what they do.

I was hoping it would be like the cartoons or video games and explore entirely different stories all together. Yoda is probably better without a deep story behind him, you could really hurt his character.

I would prefer stand alone movies with entirely different stories, then you have the "core" movies that follow the base characters etc....

totally agree with the "hurt the character" part, Yoda is already a legend, they need to be very careful

Sounds like milking the cow to me.
Yoda is obviously one of the most popular, but I think his mystique is one of the things that people love. You never really needed to know his past life, clearly he had been though much, but it was the knowledge he gained from those experiences that made him wise and admirable.

I really think it could hurt his image more than help, but it will sell either way that's for sure, so I bet they'll go all out regardless. : /
