IGN:
The Season 2 finale of AHS: Asylum, "Madness Ends," effectively brought us up to the present day, wrapping things up neatly, and mostly happily, in a way that felt surprisingly rewarding. No, nothing ever came of the alien story to make it feel any less screwball or random, but the Nazi crimes of Dr. Arden bubbled back up when it came to taking down Cardinal Howard. There was a nice sense of closure here; something the the Season 1 finale kind of did with the Harmons, but that season ender felt more like a tacked on ending after the intense events of "Birth."
