if they're going to make more, they need Depp, i'm sure he's why most people saw the last one.

Depp is bound to return, he owns a massive percentage of the franchise, and without him, there really is no Pirate of the Caribbean

time to retire this franchise. after the 2nd and 3rd one i had enough. it just got crappier with each sequel. id rather see depp act in other roles like in donnie brasco, public enemies and finding neverland.

to be honest his acting in pirates, charlie and the choc factory, alice in wonderland and dark shadows was very similar. almost like the same character, just some drunk more than others.

Not saying I'm a huge fan of the series, cause I'm not, but I thought the first 3 were at the very least 'enjoyable' (haven't seen the 4th), and they're in a genre which is very rare, namely the pirate adventure genre.

I enjoy them as mindless popcorn fun as an adult, but I know that as a kid I would probably love them. Like I used to love those old Burt Lancaster movies. And I feel these movies are being made for a new generation of kids for years to come.

Depp is choosing projects he enjoys doing, movies he would have wanted to see when he was a kid or movies he wants his own kids to enjoy, instead of just the usual 'mature' and 'serious' crime/thriller/action stuff, where you could get any lead-actor for the job.

That's not to say I didn't love him in Brasco and Neverland and all that. He's a great actor and he can pretty much do anything. But I understand the choices he makes.

And that's even without the argument of the bags of money that will be thrown upon him when he makes this movie.
