Emma Stone's 'Spider-Man' Fate Hangs In The Balance

If there's one moment that "Spider-Man" fans have been waiting for since casting was announced for Marc Webb and Sony's "Amazing" reboot, it's the death of Gwen Stacy. Not because people are tired of Emma Stone's irresistibly charming ways, mind you — she was one of our heroes of 2012 for a reason, after all — but because it's one of the most iconic tragedies in the history of comic books, one that's destined for repeating on the big-screen.

Or is it?

Speaking at the press junket for her new movie "Gangster Squad," Stone was tight-lipped when pressed on whether Gwen will finally meet her maker in the new "Spider-Man" movie, due in theaters on May 2, 2014.

"Will she?" Stone answered MTV's Josh Horowitz when asked if Gwen will die in the "Amazing" sequel. "Is it up to you? Did you write the script? Did you ghost-write the script?"

Why does she have to die so early? It took a little while for her to die in the comics and it was shocking because of it. Also there are variations of Spider-man where Gwen is perfectly fine.

I think they are going too fast about things. Then again its movies, so they will go 3 and out like always.... Why not tell more in-depth stories?

"why not tell more in depth stories" because theres a good reason they dont, most people will be getting bored of the story after 3 films its what happened in harry potter alot was just wanting it to end and it just didnt have the same impact of an ending as the books did.

this would be the same with the super hero comics. They have to shorten the stories due most not caring about every little detail and no matter how they did it, it still wouldnt have the same impact it did in the comics.

and i agree on that theres variations of spiderman where Gwen is fine but then majority of them didnt involve her having such a big role in parkers life.

i just hope they try to work on the story a bit more in the next one and less on fancy effects as yes it looked amazing but the story had too many inconsistencies to its own story and the comics.

Yeah, but why not jump into the more interesting stories? Venom done right would make a really good 3 movie series. Carnage would be an awesome movie. Etc...

All I'm saying is they don't need to go back to the origin then slowly work out of it. We know who Spider-Man is, we've heard the story about 50 times by now.

Imo, the in depth you seem to be wanted seems to be a fleshed out tv series. Which I would love to see, btw.

However, in movies which so much more going on (looking at you Lord of the Rings and Star Wars), I wish they could make a much longer series out of them.

Oh god no! I really really want to see Emma Stone in the third movie. Like, she's a major percentage of why the movies in my Top Five this year. If it happened in the second movie I wouldn't be said for Gwen Stacy, I'd be sad for myself.

Emma is pretty cute in a goofy sort of way. I mean she has these bulging bug eyes and front slanting, almost buck teeth.

Anyone else think that?

In a movie that largely sidesteps what the war is about, “Civil War” puts us in the point of view of journalists who make it clear there are no heroes in war, just dead bodies.
