The Daily Rotation - Not Fade Away Review

Jeremy of The Daily Rotation wrote, "The Sopranos creator David Chase might go down as one of the most important people to work in the television industry, but I guarantee the same won’t be said for his involvement in the medium of film. His first full-length feature, Not Fade Away, is a complete disaster from start to finish, with the only watchable performance coming from James Gandolfini and his ability to play a convincing grump of a father. Other than that Not Fade Away is a stiff-acted and amateurishly shot film that looks like it was made for a couple of bucks on a slow day."

The Blu-ray Breakdown: April 30, 2013

Nicholas of Movies Hate You Too writes:

This week has a good mixture of new releases including one of the last Oscar darlings to be released on disc but also some exciting catalog titles across several genres. For me personally, not just as a Blu-ray enthusiast, I’m ecstatic about the release Star Trek: The Next Generation – Season Three. Also being released is Barbara Streisand’s newest film along with a classic, Mark Wahlberg’s newest to coincide with Pain & Gain, and an earlier Baz Luhrman film leading up to the release of The Great Gatsby. That’s just the tip of the iceberg however- there’s quite a few more catalog titles being released as well.

Not Fade Away: ShockYa Movie Review

ShockYa: While the 1960s is a decade synonymous with war, the civil rights movement and assassinations, the decade was also an era defined by its rock-n-roll musical revolution that represented many teens and young adults’ desire to find their own interests. The new drama ‘Not Fade Away,’ the feature film writing and directorial debut of ‘The Sopranos’ creator David Chase, tells the powerful coming-of-age story of typical American suburban teens trying to realize their dreams during a decade of political unrest. Not wanting to fall into the same mundane lifestyle, they invented a new form of art and perception of life, in an effort to rebel and create their own identities.
