Gangster Squad: Box Office Buz Review

Crazy, Stupid, Love co-stars Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone re-team in Zombieland director Reuben Fleischer's brutal, pulpy, cool ensemble action picture Gangster Squad, which pits Josh Brolin's renegade tough cop and a team of lawmen who don't go by-the-book against former boxer now big-shot mobster Mickey Cohen, played by prosthetics and Sean Penn in his hammiest performance for a long time. Set in the Los Angeles of 1949 by way of glorious nostalgia for the era, the film laps up the brutal violence of a sadistic criminal and the harsh justice his henchmen face from both him and the cops who have just had enough...
