Jackie Chan Says He'll Be In 'The Expendables 3,' But Only If It's A Major Role

“For the last 10 years I have been making some other different movies. I want to be an Asian Robert De Niro. I don’t just want to be an action star, I want to be a true actor. I want to get rid of my image,” Jackie Chan said back in May. And while it's admirable that the actor wants to change up his persona, he likely also knows what side his bread is buttered on. So what does the actor, who is approaching sixty years of age, do? Might as well roll with the other old folks in the action hay one more time.

Doing press rounds for his upcoming "Chinese Zodiac," the actor revealed that Sylvester Stallone has offered him a role in "The Expendables 3," and Chan is ready to accept...with some caveats. "Sly had invited me to be in 'Expendables 2' but I was too busy filming 'CZ12' and couldn't make a commitment to the film. But he did extend his invitation to the third movie, which I agreed on the condition that I will be appearing as more than just a minor role with a few scenes," Chan said at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur.
