With Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey opening this weekend, I recently got to interview some of the cast and filmmakers in New York City and every day this week I’ll be posting an exclusive interview. Yesterday I posted Andy Serkis and today it’s Richard Armitage, who plays Thorin Oakenshield, son of Thráin, son of Thrór, King Under the Mountain.

I loved watching him on MI-5 when he played a spy on BBC. He was great and I miss seeing him on it. What upset me is that they usually kill off their agents doing something good...being a hero,dying for their country and saving lives. With his character it was different and they made him a bad guy at the end so he had no chance of coming back. He's a great actor.
