First Featurette for Gangster Squad Promises a Gangster Film for a New Generation

Collider:
Warner Bros. has released the first featurette for director Ruben Fleischer’s crime drama Gangster Squad. The movie is set in 1940s Los Angeles and stars Sean Penn as real-life gangster Mickey Cohen, who became the target of special task force known as the “Gangster Squad”. The featurette is fairly short, but it highlights bits of new footage interspersed with the cast and Fleischer talking about the allure of gangster films. Titles like The Godfather and The Untouchables are name-dropped, and Fleischer says that his goal with Gangster Squad was to make a gangster film for a new generation. (Cinema, The Gangster Squad)
