‘The Evil Dead’ (1981) Review | MATVB

MATVB: In preparation for The Evil Dead remake, we take a look back at the original cult classic. A movie centered around a seemingly normal vacation to a a cabin in the woods. This film has been considered one of the greatest horror movies of all time and skyrocketed Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell to stardom. (Blu-ray, The Evil Dead) 9.5/10

Evil Dead is a classic. I remember when I first saw it I almost tore my BF's flesh from his arm because of some of the scares.
Outlandish, some times comical, grotesque and fast paced scenes create a dizzying look for the movie that sets itself apart from imitators.

Evil Dead felt like a ride, more than a movie.

I laughed at outrageousness, my brother jumped in shock/fear, and I clinched up in disgust at the barbarity. Fantastic film.

That really does add to my own description of what to expect for this movie.

i hope the remake can stand up to the original. sam raimi came up with a very original take. this movie is a perfect blend of comedy and thrills.
