Though the Resident Evil franchise has proven to be a nice cottage industry in the September dog days of the moviegoing year (seriously, who imagined that this and the Underworld saga would both see fourth installments?), it’s also starting to look more and more like a sad imitation of its far superior digital counterpart with each film. Where the first Resident Evil at least tried to conduct itself as a horror movie, Retribution is a movie for gamers in every conceivable sense, a meticulous exercise in carefully structured “gotcha!” moments and throaty one-liners. It’s also quite a chore to get through.
With the new The Crow remake coming soon, we take a look back at the 30-year-old cult classic original–and where the stars are now.
Kaam Chalu Hai Review: Based on true events, this movie is thought-provoking and inspiring
Rebel Moon Part 2 Review: This movie doesn't feel anything new or worth remembering, which is a shame.
