Michael Clarke Duncan: A Tribute

Clickonline writes "Most of you may be surprised to discover Duncan was never a professional football player (his mother wouldn’t let him - Scared he’d hurt himself... and not EVERYONE else!), but gradually broke into acting while working as a bodyguard for the likes of Will Smith, Jamie Foxx and the Notorious B.I.G."

Dennis Haysbert Taking Over For Michael Clarke Duncan In Sin City: A Dame To Kill For

Cinema Blend: Those who have read Frank Miller's Sin City series have known that there would be a slight hiccup when it came to casting Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, namely the part of Manute. In Robert Rodriguez's 2005 film the character was played by Michael Clarke Duncan, but the Oscar nominated actor sadly died earlier this year. Given that Manute has a big role in the sequel's titular story Rodriguez has to find a replacement actor for the part, and today it seems he has found his man.

The guy from the all state commercial takes Duncan's place? Well as long as the movie is good I'm all for it.

StarWarsFan4150d ago

This will be a different kind of project for him.

Simon_Brezhnev4150d ago

Yeah it will be kind of weird.

I always liked this guy. He just seemed to be such a nice guy and by all the accounts I had read from people prior to today he was.

Too bad. A really good guy as Crazay said.

I'm so sad...I just loved this man. The Green Mile is one of my favorite movies and it's because of him. He was such a wonderful and funny person too. I know he had recently had heart surgery. My heart just feels a little empty right now.

SnakeCQC4243d ago

he also did the voice over for atlas in god of war this guy was really talented green mile was awesome its such a loss

Soldierone4243d ago

He was awesome, but never really got credit for his stuff since he was hardly the main character.

I remember him in See Spot Run, he was hilarious in that. Also he was the voice in Green Lantern.

I think its kinda funny that no one really knows him by name, but as soon as you mention movies and show pictures EVERYONE is like "oh man I liked him!"

Crazay4243d ago

Ya that is kinda of unfortunate because he was absolutely brilliant in The Green Mile. Just one hell of a good actor who probably never got nearly as many roles as he should have due to his size. He was a gargantuan man and there just aren't so many roles for a man of that stature.

Michael Clarke Duncan to Voice Kilowog in 'Green Lantern'

HollywoodReporter: "Michael Clarke Duncan is in negotiations to voice the character of Kilowog in Warner Bros.’s Green Lantern movie.

The movie, based on the DC Comics character and starring Ryan Reynolds, is deep in post-production. One of the facets of the process is the voice work; Geoffrey Rush signed on to voice the character of Tomar-Re, a bird/fish-like alien, two weeks ago."

It seems that all the voice actors have been recorded already, they're just announcing them now. Kind of how one week they announced Geoffrey Rush, and the next they had the 4-minute trailer that already had his voice over work in it.
