CBM

Well, this is quite a surprise. Recent reports suggest Marvel Studios is willing to offer Fox more time to develop Daredevil, with Joe Carnahan directing, in exchange for Fantastic Four universe characters.

Nice. Fox hasn't done SFA in a long ass time. let's see what can happen in the very capable hands of Marvel Studios.

Oh boy... Galactus and Silver Surfer? Please except FOX! PLEASE! I want to see Surfer and Galactus done right. Although, Surfer in The second F4 movie was awesome you dun goofed when it came to Galactus being a huge cloud.

I thought they did a great job with the surfer too but that last FF movie fell way short for me. I could have done without the SS Junk shot though. Just sayin.

Why not ask for The Avengers' greatest villain of all-time ... Dr. Doom?

OneAboveAll4278d ago

Because Doom is primarily a Fantastic 4 villain. Now Kang the Conqueror or Ultron on the other hand...

TheDailySuperHero4278d ago

Doom is as much a main villain of The Avengers as he is a villain of the FF in the comics. He first appeared in FF but he is called The Avengers' greatest villain for a reason too.

Doesn't matter because this rumor has been debunked and it looks like Marvel is going to get Daredevil back instead.

Could someone kindly explain to me why Marvel has to barter for their own characters? Is it because of previous contractual agreements or something?

And yes, "Galactus" in the Fantastic Four movie was basically a boring cloudy day.

I believe studios owns rights to characters. I am guessing this was before Marvel decided to open/make movies.

eg Sony owns Spider-man, Fox owns the X-Men etc.

They had to turn all whore before Disney came around, selling long exclusive contracts for their IPs.

I mean, selling yourself to Disney is the ultimate self-whoring, but at least that ends up more like "Pretty Woman" than street hooker.
