Hans Zimmer to Score Man of Steel

Coming Soon

Hans Zimmer, the film composer responsible for Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises, is set to return to the DC Universe next summer. Variety is reporting that, contrary to earlier reports, Zimmer will score Zack Snyder's Man of Steel.

While Zimmer may seem like a natural fit for the project, he shot down rumors of his involvement late last year in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

One of the (if not the) best composers today. Not sure if even he can make a Superman flick good on the big screen though. Everyone needs to have very low expectations for this movie and maybe, just maybe, it'll be good and if they actually make Supes a badass too. No more of this goody-goody Superman stuff ... he's the most powerful alien on the planet and he needs to let loose from time-to-time and get pissed off. Fingers crossed.

I'm a big fan of this news but I don't think you have anything to worry about with this vision of Superman. he;'s my favorite character without a doubt and I have faith in what Snyder is doing. Everything I've seen on this so far has me excited.

Snyder is like a younger version of Michael Bay ... all explosions and action without any good story and it shows in his films since 300 (in our opinion).

We have low, low expectations for this movie and that's a good thing, especially if it surprises because then it will be that much better and entertaining.

But please, please, please have a more badass Superman already. :)

I dunno man - I've really Snyder's body of work. Dawn of the Dead was a fantastic remake, 300 is one of those movies I can watch over and over, I loved every second in the Watchmen and Sucker Punch was artistically beautiful (though I will give you the story was a lil meh). I think he's got all the right pieced in place to make this an incredibly awesome Superman movie and we will no doubt see Supes really show off his powers.

Having Zod and his cronies in the first movie is really going to push him as a character on screen (I thought Superman 2 was the best in the original series) and this is going to just set the tone for the future sequels and perhaps even a JLA movie.

I love this news. I'm a huge fan of Zimmer and think he's great. I have to imagine Bates is a bit upset right now though.
