Vicki Dolley writes: "Indie Game: The Movie can be seen as the flipside of the 2007 documentary The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters – whilst the latter was about the obsession of video game fans, Indie Game: The Movie is about the obsession of independent developers. These are people who are full of amazing creative ideas and passion, who have absolutely no intention working for a giant corporation (Super Meat Boy developer Tommy Refenes believes that popular modern big-budget games like Halo: Reach and Call of Duty are terrible and that working for big companies like EA and Epic Games would be his worst nightmare)."
